2025-2026 – BUS Schedule
Do you live too close to qualify for a school bus (within 2 miles), consider taking the free MEVA! Routes 15 and 16 will get you to school on time. They stop where you are along the route (as long as it’s safe to do so), and drop you off on Monument Street in front of the school! No more excuses, take the public transport! They are also going to stop at the end of the day and wait until 2:15 to depart, to give the kids time to get to their bus.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Good afternoon,
Starting tomorrow, if your student(s) is not in class by the start of school, 7:25, they will be asked to sign in at the main office or with a clerk in the hallway and marked tardy.
Parents/Guardians will receive a notice each day if their student(s) are tardy, similar to being notified for being absent.
If your student drives to school please have them plan accordingly, to park and enter school on time
Please know we ask for you support to have students arrive on time.
Sincerely,
Mike D.
Good morning,
We had 286 students marked tardy today. Many were in the halls minutes after the bell rang for the start of the day (7:25) and many were in the parking lot. As a reminder driving to school and parking at school are privileges. The grade level assistant principals will be monitoring excessive tardies by those who drive to school, which may result in a loss of those privileges. Please remind your student to plan ahead and arrive to school early enough to get to class by 7:25. Students who arrive by bus also need to go to class on time as well.
Your support in having your student(s) arrive to school and in be in class on time is greatly appreciated.
Mike D.

PHONE POLICY
On July 25, 2024 the School Committee unanimously approved the new cell phone policy at the high school to help students focus on learning while in class, to increase student engagement, and to prevent coordinated events while in class. The policy states that cell phones (and other electronic devices) must be turned off and cell phones must be put into the designated classroom container or on silent in a backpack. No cell phone use is allowed while out on a hall pass during class time.
Students will still be able to check their phones between classes or during lunch but families can call the main office to reach students if an emergency arises.
Working as a team to implement this policy will make concerns about staff confiscating phones a non-issue as we are giving students the same message to have phones away during class times. Again, this policy is to help with learning, maintain better safety, and protect the dignity of students in moments that may be out of their control.
Additionally, Haverhill High School staff is expected to model this policy as well and will not have cell phones out during instructional times in class. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work together to create the best possible learning environment.
JROTC UPDATES
Your Marine Corps JROTC has earned Naval Honor School for the 6th year in a row. We have several events coming up and all are invited to attend. On Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 0846 we will be holding our annual 9/11 remembrance day ceremony in front of the 9/11 memorial at Haverhill High School. On Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1320 (1:20 pm) we will be holding our annual POW/MIA ceremony in the Haverhill High School Auditorium.
TECHNOLOGY
HPS offers the opportunity to protect school-issued devices for the school year by paying a Device Waiver Fee. As outlined in the HPS Student Technology Device Policy, this $20 fee will help to cover the costs of potential damage, repair, or loss for the school year for the assigned device. Please note: issues of theft should still be reported to the police. The $20 covers 1 student for 1 school year. So families with more than one student will have to sign each student up separately. Some of the replacement costs are as follows:
Charger – $39
LCD Screen – $80
Top/Bottom Cover – $30-$35
Keyboard $70
Trackpad $15
