Hello Haverhill High School Families,
Next year’s schedules will be available to students’ guidance counselors when we return from break. Counselors will be calling students out of class to resolve holes or conflicts in students’ schedules. Students need to be in class to be called down to guidance by the counselor to resolve conflicts. STUDENTS WHO DROP INTO GUIDANCE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CHANGE THEIR SCHEDULE. All schedule issues will be resolved by June 1, 2024. There will be no add/drop period in the fall. Thank you for your support as we work to streamline this process.

Career Technical Education Seniors in the Information Technology and Computer Science & Web Development programs were fortunate to hear from George Peters, the president of New England Invents, during their Entrepreneurship class. As an independent inventor for over 25 years, Mr. Peters was able to share important information and lessons learned related to the patent process. This will be helpful as these students move on after high school.

SAT exam at Haverhill High School!
We are excited to offer the opportunity for our students to take the SAT exam at HHS on Saturday June 1st! Registration is currently open. Please have your student login to their College Board account and access this link to register: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/dates-deadlines. Students must login to their College Board account and choose Haverhill High School as their testing center for the June 1st exam. The deadline to register is May 16th.
Below you will find more information about the SAT Digital exam. Please reach out to your child’s school counselor if you have any questions.
The SAT measures the knowledge and skills your student is learning in school and that matter most for college and career readiness. Even if they’re not planning to apply to college, or only planning to apply to test-optional colleges, the SAT can help get them to where they want to go.
The SAT will be delivered in a new digital format that provides a better testing experience. Some of the benefits include:
• The test is just over 2 hours instead of 3.
• Students will have more time per question.
• Questions will have shorter reading passages.
• Students will have access to a built-in graphing calculator—or can bring their own approved calculator- that can be used on the entire math section.
In addition to the benefits above, your student will have access to free full-length practice tests in Bluebook™, College Board’s digital testing application, and Official Digital SAT Prep with Khan Academy. And, when they receive their score report, it will have personalized insights on career options. Learn more about the SAT at sat.org/whytake.
