2025-2026 – BUS Schedule and HHS Late Bus Schedule
Do you live too close to qualify for a school bus (within 2 miles), consider taking the free MEVA! Routes 15 and 16 will get you to school on time. They stop where you are along the route (as long as it’s safe to do so), and drop you off on Monument Street in front of the school! No more excuses, take the public transport! They are also going to stop at the end of the day and wait until 2:15 to depart, to give the kids time to get to their bus.

MCAS CELEBRATION
260 sophomores and juniors students were invited for earning a Meets or Exceeds expectations on their MCAS last spring. Students were allowed free movement between the gym, auditorium and main office conference room to hang out and have some fun with their friends. The students were wonderfully behaved and incredibly grateful.
Thank you to the PE department for setting up Carnival style games and 5 on 5 basketball in the gym spaces. Thank you to the CTE department and Victoria Kelley for setting out tables and chairs for all of our students in the main office hallway and helping to distribute food. Thank you to our guidance department for being in all locations to help supervise and manage students. Thank you to the main office staff for moving the office and making this possible. Thank you to the Clerks, APs, SSCs and security who helped supervise the passes.
A special thanks to Grace and Joyce who helped with all the planning and got food donations from Panera and Texas Roadhouse to make this a special event for our students
I appreciate all of you and our students do too,
Tori

THANKSGIVING MEALS
Great things are happening at Haverhill High School!
Once again, our HHS community came together and went above and beyond to help those in need. This year, we provided over 340 meals to our HHS families!
Special thanks go out to many…
To the staff members who helped compile our Student list and the Liasons/Clerks that made the phone calls and connected with families – thank you for adding our event to your already busy plates.
To Justin Hodgkins, Raymon Lebron, Anna Perrachio, and their cafeteria staff, who once again worked extremely hard the last few days preparing and packaging the meals – you always find ways to get it done!
To those who donated turkeys/desserts/gift cards, and all those who volunteered after school to package desserts, thank you – your kindness is very much appreciated.
Extra high fives go to AP Nelly Garcia-Santana, Joyce Kimani, Mary Johnston, Angelecia Salinas, Sharon Ashman-Rodgers, Diane Koocher, George Nigro, Jason Burns, Tacqua Turner, Helen Zbitnoff, City Councilor Devan Ferreira, Amie Aloisi, and Jeanne Duffy. They volunteered to hand-deliver the meals to the households all around Haverhill (and a few others in various cities).
Bonus Note: We had a few extra meals donated to the Emmaus House, and a few homeless people also received a warm meal!
Hillie Nation is very grateful for you all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
BEST BUDDIES FRIENDSGIVING AT HHS
Best Buddies Friendsgiving at Haverhill High!
Our Best Buddies Program at Haverhill High School hosted its first-ever Friendsgiving, a beautiful celebration of inclusion, friendship, and community. Everyone participated and brought a variety of delicious foods to share — and the joy in the room was unforgettable.
We’re especially proud to share how much this incredible group has grown. What started with just 5 consistent members has now grown to over 25 amazing students who show up, support one another, and make HHS a more inclusive place every day.
We are so thankful for this group and all the kindness they bring to our school community. Happy Friendsgiving, Best Buddies!
COUNSELING UPDATES
Grade 9, 10 & 11th grade students– Whittier Tech and Essex Tech (and our own CTE Program) is now lottery based. This means that acceptances are at random and there is no specific criteria to be accepted. As part of our recent Middle Schools Exploration Policy, HPS is required to notify families of local vocational opportunities.
The deadline to transfer to Whittier Tech:
- mid-year admission to grade 9- December 1, 2025
- Grade 9 Fall admissions deadline is January 9, 2026
- Grade 10 & 11 transfers February 1, 2026.
For more information, please check the Haverhill Public Schools Counseling webpage and/or please see your counselor if you have any questions.
NURSING UPDATE
The nursing team will be completing health screenings during the week of December 1st on all 10th grade students. Massachusetts School Health law (M.G.L. Chapter 71, Section 57 and 105 CMR 200.000) requires schools to provide regular health screenings for students. Also required is a follow up with the results of these screenings with families and referrals to primary health care providers as necessary. Children who cannot see, hear, or are growing improperly may be having difficulty learning. We recommend having your child seen by a physician if they do not pass a screening.
Screenings include height, weight, hearing, vision, and scoliosis. The scoliosis screening requires assessment of the student’s spine, so we suggest for comfort, wearing a sports bra or tank top underneath regular clothing.
Please make sure your student (s) bring their eye glasses to the screening if they are prescribed them already.
If you would like to opt out of these screenings for your student, or have questions, please email hhsnurses@haverhill-ps.org prior to December 1st.
In addition, comprehensive physical exams are required on entrance to school and at least every 3-4 years. Please send in the most recent physical exam report to the nursing office.
