The purpose of the National Honor Society is to recognize students who have exelled in areas of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. It is a national organization sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). The national organization provides the guidelines to be used in the selection and dismissal procedure.

--Congratulations to our new officers. I am hoping we can all have a chance to serve in a leadership position as Chairperson(s) of committees and fundraisers.

--If you have not picked up your Honors Pass please do so in K15.

NHS SELECTION CRITERIA

After SECOND TERM of your junior year students must have a 3.0 GPA and 112 Quality Points to be invited to apply for the SPRING.

At the END OF THE JUNIOR YEAR students must have a 3.0 GPA and 135 Quality Points to be invited to apply for the FALL.

Students must have some community service activities during their high school years when applying. They should also have some school involvement whether in clubs or sports.
