 JUNIORS: COLLEGE/CAREER SEARCH TIMELINE
REMINDER! This is the last full year of grades that colleges will see on your transcript, so keep working!

  • Meet with your Guidance Counselor to discuss career planning. Early Decision is a binding program for fall freshmen and can be used for one college choice only. Early action is a non-binding early application program for fall freshman and can be used for applying to multiple colleges.
  • Review graduation requirements & carefully choose your senior year courses during registration. Take into account requirements for acceptance at the colleges or programs you are considering.  You will not be able to make changes to your schedule in September 2009.
  • Develop a preliminary list of colleges that interest you & discuss them with your Guidance Counselor.  Identify teachers, administrators, counselors and other adults who you could ask for letters of recommendation. Ask yourself whether or not they know your work, personality, and other characteristics well enough to make valid judgments.
  • Attend the Round Robin Mini-Fair at HHS on April 1st from 6:30-8:30 with your parents.
  • Register for the May or June SAT’s and/or ACT’s. See dates below and register at www.collegeboard.com. See your Guidance Counselor for assistance or to pick up a registration/preparation booklet!
