    College Representative Visits

    Each fall, college representatives visit the HHS School Counseling Department to meet with seniors.  Seniors can sign up to attend these visits in the Counseling Department or online through Naviance.  Below you will find a complete list of the college visits at HHS this fall (as of Sept. 20th).

    Saturday September 22, 2018- United States Naval Academy Admissions Forum
    Location: John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science, 55 Malcolm X Blvd., Roxbury, MA 02120- 9:00am – 12:00pm

    Wednesday October 3, 2018- NEACAC Regional College Fair
    Location: Northern Essex Community College- Haverhill Campus- Sports & Fitness Building- 6:00 – 8:00pm
    Admission representatives from over 50 colleges/universities will be in attendance to share important information on the application process, admission requirements, academic majors, and more.  This is a free event!  To find out which institutions will attend, visit https://www.neacac.org/2018-fall-fair-schedule


    Wednesday October 10, 2018- PSAT/NMSQT
    Location: Haverhill High School- 7:30am
    The PSAT/NMSQT is the first step towards reaching college goals.  It measures the reading, mathematics, and writing skills that students need for college.  Students in grades 10 and 11 are encouraged to register to take the PSAT in October.  After taking this test, students will receive important feedback on academic strengths and weaknesses as well as an individualized study plan on how to improve.  Addtionally, juniors will be entered into national scholarship competitions as a result of participation.  Students can sign up to take the PSAT in the HHS School Counseling Office.  Space is limited so we encourage students to sign up as soon as possible!  The cost for this exam is $16 and the deadline to register is October 2nd!  There will be a mandatory pre-administration session for all test takers on October 3rd and 4th (students must attend one of these sessions).


    Thursday October 11, 2018- MEFA College Financing Seminar
    Location: Haverhill High School Auditorium- 6:00pm
    Parents and students are invited to attend this free seminar, which is offered through MEFA, the Commonwealth’s authority on planning, saving, and paying for college.  An experienced MEFA representative will provide an overview of the college financing process, including types of financial aid, how to apply, and financing options for your family.  Before the seminar, be sure to visit MEFA’s website- www.mefa.org– to download a copy of the seminar presentation in English or Spanish and explore other tools and resources to assist you in the college planning process.  There will be two sessions held simultaneously in English and Spanish.  The English presentation will be held in the HHS Auditorium.  The Spanish presentation will be held in the Main Office Conference Room. 


    Saturday October 13, 2018- Northern Essex Community College Open House
    Location: Northern Essex Community College- Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St., Haverhill, MA- 10:00am – 12:00pm
    Students can take a tour of the campus, learn about the admission and enrollment process, and explore academic programs!
